Learning Communities

The term “Learning Communities” refers to an intentional cohort of ‘engaged learners’ committed to ongoing practices together. Examples of learning communities are: a whole school faculty, strategic partners from different organizations serving a common purpose, a partnership of educators and entrepreneurs, or a parent/family cohort interested in bringing an engaged teaching approach to their own parenting or school system.

In our work, we encourage and support learning communities to create a shared vision process, to articulate explicit and transparent agreements, and to utilize a set of shared practices and principles that foster safety, trust, and effective and joyful collaboration and learning. The practices and principles of the Engaged Teaching Approach can assist learning communities to grow and develop over time.
